  2. French CEFR Level A1

    I am a beginner, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). I can communicate in very basic ways, using simple phrases and expressions related to familiar topics. I am able to understand and use everyday expressions and simple sentences, and able to introduce myself and others. Interacting is possible for me, provided the other person speaks slowly and clearly. Additionally, I am able to read and understand short, simple texts such as signs, menus, and basic instructions. Presently, I am able to read in French at an A2 level.

  3. Advanced Microsoft Excel

    In this advanced Excel course, I learned how to display data as an outline, apply conditional formatting to format cells based on their values, and create charts and sparklines to visualize and present data. I also learned how to perform formula audits and use the scenario manager for "what-if" analysis. The course covered importing external data, creating custom views, creating macros with a recorder, and applying data protection to provide us with greater flexibility when working with data. I was also taught about splicers to allow for quick filtering and displaying of data.

    For the Certified Associate of Project Management® (CAPM) examination, I learned fundamental concepts, tools, and techniques of project management. I have a solid understanding of project integration, scope, time, cost, quality, resource, communication, risk, procurement, and stakeholder management. Additionally, I have a comprehensive understanding of the project life cycle, project management processes, and project documents. I understand project governance, ethics, and professional responsibility, and how they contribute to project success. Overall, the CAPM certification equipped me with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the field of project management.

    These 16 online courses covered different aspects of project management, including cost management, schedule management, team management, project work management, communication management, resource management, scope management, risk management, and change management. The courses explored the different processes used to manage projects, from planning and estimating to monitoring and controlling, and provided me with the knowledge and skills to effectively manage project teams, resources, schedules, and budgets. Topics included creating project schedules, identifying and managing risks, monitoring communications, and managing project changes.

    As a learner in this course, I discovered that becoming a Workplace Trainer is an excellent way to develop skills in planning, preparing, delivering and evaluating training in both one-on-one and group settings. This can increase employee productivity, confidence and retention, which can lead to repeat business, word-of-mouth referrals, and increased revenue.   7. Canada Labour Code, Part II Certificate

    I learned about the rights and responsibilities of employees and employers under the Code. It covered the purpose of the Code, which is to promote safe and healthy working conditions. I also learned about the different types of workplace hazards, including physical, chemical, and biological hazards, and about the measures that employers must take to protect their employees from these hazards. Additionally, I learned about the different types of leave available to employees, including sick leave, maternity and parental leave, and compassionate care leave, and about the procedures for resolving disputes under the Code. Overall, this course provided me with a comprehensive overview of the Canada Labour Code, Part II, and the rights and responsibilities it confers upon employees and employers.

    My degree from UBC prepared me for leadership positions in different organizations. The program covered a wide range of business topics, including project management, human resources, information technology, and operations management, as well as management and leadership skills. The program also offered specialized courses in areas such as sustainability, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Throughout the program, we were taught to think critically, solve complex problems, and communicate effectively. Graduates of the program are said to be well-prepared to begin successful careers in various sectors or pursue further education in fields like business administration or law.
